'Insensible' is a short narrative film that utilises the traditional Japanese literary concept of mono no aware in moving images to magnify the significance of different objects within the frame to help the audience build sympathy towards the work.
It is a self-reflection film based on my own experience of losing my last chance to talk with my grandmother. The word insensible stands a delayed awareness of my longing for kinship that I only noticed after my grandmother's death.
Within this 12-minute film, a series of daily activities are captured to convey my subjective understanding of mono no aware, which is consolidated with my personal experience and identity of my origin.
